B turned one on January 28th. She is no longer that little tiny baby I brought home from the hospital. She is just 8 lbs heavier. Perhaps, she is still tiny for her age! I do have small children who stay right on the edge of falling off the growth chart on their well visits to the pediatrician.
Feeding my kids is always a challenge. With five kids, all with different food palettes and a mother who always tries to please, equals frustration. I always thought my love for eating would pass on and my favorite meals would be loved by everyone. There's another dreamy expectation torn to bits. Sigh...I'm learning to tell myself that I only have to make one meal or the kid doesn't eat. They won't ever starve. It works some nights and others it doesn't. Serving healthy balance meals, that's another challenge and post for another time. My point is, I hope this challenge isn't the reason for my small children.
I handed my little one year old her first cupcake and she didn't like it.
She took a few bites and decided it wasn't her favorite thing in the world. She did like the ice cream more.
My little one had a great first year. I pray that she continues to grow and be the happy baby she is =-) Perhaps, I'll try ice cream cake next year.
