I was driving to work, listening to 107.3 FM on the radio when they abruptly interrupted the broadcast to tell us a plane had crashed into the one of the Twin Towers. I could hardly believe my ears. I arrived at work and I ran inside and turned on my boss' television in the kitchen without even asking, to share what was going on. I knew her grown kids worked in New York. The phone lines were overloaded with calls - phone lines weren't working. The world's focus was on what was unfolding before us. I went home and just sat on my couch and watched the news all day.
I live in DC and I have not ever visited the Pentagon Memorial. However, once Eddie started speech therapy, I would drive by the Pentagon weekly and always remember what happened. I decided to visit the memorial when I had the chance. I took these shots earlier this year but never posted.
I will never forget!
God bless our country!
