Fall
I used to tell people that I love the four seasons. You get tired of one, the next one comes. I still prefer that but now I think I can tell people that Fall is my favorite season out of them all. I love the changing of the colors in the trees, how the leaves fall to the ground, the smell in the air, saying goodbye to the hot, hazy and humid weather, the beginning of a new school year, the cooler temperatures, sweater weather (or hoodie weather), hot drinks taste better, Halloween, pumpkins, Thanksgiving, family, baking, the anticipation of Christmas and the first snowfall! It all makes me smile and I just want to take it all in!

Oh Yum!
My sister recently sent me a present for my birthday. She called to make sure I'd be home at a certain time so I figured it had to be some sort of delivery. I was imagining a song and dance from some person dressed in a costume, but instead there was a man at the door with a white paper bag saying, "Special delivery!". I read the bag and it said, Georgetown Cupcake. Inside the bag was a pink box. Inside the pink box were a dozen assorted cupcakes. Little did they know they were about to be ravaged.
Georgetown Cupcake is owned by two sisters and they have their own TV series on TLC called DC Cupcakes. I can't imagine how they make a TV series about that, but I soon learned that they are so very popular. My 7 year old daughter comes home from school and sees the bag on the table and said, "Oh, Georgetown Cupcakes! If I read ten books, I get a free cupcake from them.", a neighbor came over and saw the bag and said, "Oh, I love that place! I go there all the time. I love the Oreo cupcake." I was browsing around Facebook and noticed someone had Georgetown Cupcake under a list of things they "like". This is what happens when you don't have cable, but I now feel like part of the club. Whenever I get a chance, I'm heading over to the Bethesda location and trying out some new flavors. I'll try to remember to bring my camera and join the other tourists.
So there were twelve different, simple but elegant cupcakes. I couldn't possible eat them all. It makes sense to share them with my family, but that would mean that I wouldn't be able to taste all the flavors. Pashaw, I couldn't let that happen. I told my kids that we were all having cupcakes after dinner, but Mommy had to take a small slice of each cupcake to taste it. I hate to say it, but those cupcakes were gone in three days. My favorites being the Chocolate Ganache and the Toffee Crunch. I tell ya, I've had my share of cupcakes, but these were fantastic! Oh yummy!!!!
Thank you to my sister for getting the most thoughtful gift.

Perfect Angel
Just recently, B & I traveled with Coach's football team to Steubenville. I was wondering how B would behave on the trip. I was scared she would start screaming on the bus and then what would I do? But B is such a happy baby.
She was a perfect angel for the whole trip. Phew!
However, once we got home early Saturday morning ready to go to sleep, is when she decided to start screaming. Go figure.

Defeated
One sunny day, as I was playing with my camera, E came outside to join me and desperately wanted to play with A's big girl bike. It was way too big for him and I told him to leave it alone, but he insisted.
I stood firm and said, "Sorry, buddy - No."
Still insisting with a sense of hope that I'll change my mind.
Finally, there was a cease to his begging. I contiuned happily playing with my camera while he sat beside me in defeat.

Muddy
Out of all my kids, I think it's safe to believe P likes to get muddy the most.
P loves hippos. Hippos love mud. P likes to pretend he's a hippo.
Even at the park, he finds a way to get muddy.
But it makes him happy.
Boys will be boys!
